Fletcher Seminary Receives Full Tax Exempt Status From IRS

Dr. Williford Announces Joyful News

Fletcher Seminary is excited to announce that we recently received our 501(c)3 Determination Letter from the Internal Revenue Service, fully declaring our organization as tax exempt. President Don Williford announced to the Board of Directors recently that Fletcher is now in a much stronger position to cultivate meaningful relationships with donors, many of whom have been awaiting this news.

Due to the pandemic, the IRS has nearly a year long a backlog of 501(c)3 applications, so this news was long awaited and received with great joy.

A New Brokerage Account

Since the letter from the IRS came, Fletcher’s board has approved the opening of a brokerage account with Edward Jones, making it possible for the Seminary to receive stocks and other market based assets as charitable contributions.

Fletcher is now in the process of receiving over $50,000 in pledged gifts, and also of quickly setting systems in place for those who desire to give on a regular recurring basis.
