Spiritual Life

Fletcher Seminary has multiple opportunities for spiritual development and formation.

Chapel (Online)

Student, faculty and staff gather twice monthly online for exercising spiritual practices in community, including prayer, litanies, singing, and book discussions. In this space, each participant is encouraged to bring their authentic self before God and others. Students, staff and faculty may all take turns facilitating discussion and leading others in worship of God. Times and dates (during the first academic year) for chapel will be set each semester at a time/date that proves most convenient for a majority of participants.

Convocation (In Person)

Fletcher Seminary Convocations celebrate the beginning of an academic year and take place at the begining of the fall semester when in-person hybrid cohorts gather in San Antonio.

Spiritual Retreats

As an added component of the academic program, Fletcher faculty will periodically offer spiritual retreats and pilgrimages both for students and the public, where participants will engage in a variety of practices to grow in their own spirituality. For students, these faith formation opportunities may also be used for elective credit towards graduation.
