Transforming  Ministers Through Education

We educate and nurture servant leaders in joining God’s mission of love, grace, and redemption in Christ Jesus for the sake of the world by connecting remote learners with a rigorous, cost-effective theological education integrated with real-life training, equipping students for transformational ministry. Fletcher is a multidenominational and inclusive seminary, committed to diversity in our faculty and student body.

The Fletcher Legacy

Dr. Jesse C. Fletcher (1931–2014) was a visionary leader, pastor, educator, and global Christian servant. A native of San Antonio, he studied at Texas A&M University before answering a call to ministry, earning both the Master of Divinity and Ph.D. from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Dr. Fletcher served with the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board, as pastor of First Baptist Church in Knoxville, and as the 12th President of Hardin-Simmons University, where he guided significant growth in enrollment, facilities, and programs. Most notably, he was the founding visionary behind Logsdon Seminary, reflecting his lifelong passion for equipping ministers as adaptive, lifelong learners for diverse contexts.

A prolific author, teacher, community leader, and man of many talents, Fletcher’s legacy is rooted in his conviction that “seminaries should teach people how to think – not what to think.”
